Sculptor Susie Olczak and installation artist Jennifer Argo come together for the first time after a long awaited period to bring you VOID.
The project will begin as an online visually discursive engagement between the two artists, documenting site-specific pieces in relation to their ongoing work.
Olczak’s work deals with the subject matter of how we react to and are affected by structures and spaces we are presented with on a daily basis. She creates minimalist work that are influenced by geometry and architecture and focus on our experience of light form and space.
The intricate gestures of Argo’s natural studies, through sculptural, photographic and illustrative means, tackle the theme of the intrinsic connectivity of natural systems and how they can be seen to reflect our own communities, creating emphasis on humanity as a natural system, attempting to bridge philosophy and science.
During GI itself the work will be brought into the public realm, to a site that demonstrates a crossover between the urban and natural influences of each of the artists work. The work will exist on an ephemeral basis capturing the way we regard and are affected by our transcendental surroundings.
